Thanks for your post, and coming acros...Hi Fetsum,

Thanks for your post, and coming across my blog. Congratulations on your new book. Generally speaking, the answer to your question depends on whether your book is self published or whether it is published by a publishing company. If you are a self-published author, then I would recommend checking out blogs and articles like this one for tips: http://selfpublishingadvisor.com/2011/04/27/self-publishing-authors-can-get-their-books-on-the-shelves-of-traditional-bookstores/ If your book is published by a small, medium, or large-sized publishing company, then getting your book in bookstores will mainly be the company’s job. They should be doing this directly, or working with a trade distributor to make it happen. Ask them how you can help as the author. Also, I am not sure where you are located, but Borders bookstores are going out of business: http://money.msn.com/exchange-traded-fund/dispatch.aspx?post=8cef1cd2-3da3-4436-9b2d-cd0b1ea01fc7

Good luck!

SarahSarah Keeneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05995682308315891894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1762352628626528941.post-47941480141915910892011-09-05T10:14:55.567-07:002011-09-05T10:14:55.567-07:00I am an author expecting my book to come out in we...I am an author expecting my book to come out in weeks. I especially liked his advice for aspiring writers--to paraphrase, "write because you can't not write"--and his admonition that, if you're gunning for some extrinsic reward, better to go play with your kids.
A gutsy quote, too, was his insight that focus and determination make people uneasy.
Thanks for posting it.

Yours,
Larry Tagg
author, The Unpopular Mr. Lincoln (Savas Beatie, Spring 2009)
author, The Unpopular Mr. LincolnLarry Tagghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13993195807601550491noreply@blogger.com
